Ohio Strong Start to Finish

The Sova team delivers state-level and cohort-based supports and services to institutions in Ohio’s Strong Start to Finish (SSF) initiative – a collaboration between the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), the Inter-University Council (IUC), the Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC), and 18 community colleges and 12 universities. The goal of Ohio SSF is to significantly increase the number of students completing gateway mathematics and English courses as part of a guided pathway within their first academic year. Sova supports the SSF Learning Network, where we focus on change management and providing guidance on campus engagement practices needed to move change of this magnitude through an institution.

Sova helped us better understand and face head-on some of the deeper challenges facing our efforts to scale remediation reform. Not only did I value their insights with respect to faculty engagement, but I also benefited from having them on hand as safe-space sounding boards and thought partners.
